RECOGNIZING THE WILES, LIES, OF THE DEVILS IS ESSENTIAL

Greetings and welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries. A short while ago we received a prayer request here at the Ministry that involved people practicing the occult, and demons were wreaking havoc in this person’s life. We responded to that prayer request, but I was also quickened to do a brief teaching concerning Christians and demons. This study will by no means be definitive. This study will give a good foundation for ordering our thoughts concerning demons. You will also come away knowing without a doubt that you have total dominance over demons.
We are not to give demons any more attention than we give the dirt or grass beneath our feet. Yes, we need to be on guard, aware, testing all things but nonetheless not distracted from our assignment. Not distracted from our assignment no matter the intensity of the attack, the temptation. Always remain focused on the Word of God no matter how we feel or what we see in the circumstances, the natural world around us. Let’s take a look at the armor we have been given.
Ephesians 6:11-18 (KJV)
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Teachers Note: Remember these powers are far under our feet and under our authority.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Teachers Note: The Truth makes one free, the lies of demons brings bondage and death. Being a stickler to do things God’s way is protection. Thinking you have a better way is evil.
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Teachers Note: Do you understand the peace that is in your and is within by the agency of the Holy Spirit. Let peace umpire your heart (thought life). All of the gospel is good news.
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Teachers Note: Are you fully persuaded of the Word of God, even the Word you don’t yet fully understand? If not repent and meditate until you are fully persuaded. Your life depends on it.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Teachers Note: Do you know, really know, and walk in the fulness of your salvation package. Salvation is not just a ticket to Heaven. Do you speak the Word of God in opposition to the lies of the demons? If you don’t know the Word, do you ask the Lord to show you and seek after the Word answer?
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
The final piece of armor is prayer, all kinds of prayer including in the Spirit. This is called or named the “whole armour of God”. If it is good enough for Him, don’t you suppose it is adequate for us? Please don’t too focused on the natural, the various pieces of armor named but instead on the Truth, the Word of God, the knowledge that is necessary for each part of the armor to be effective. Just as Jesus spoke in parables about natural things to illuminate a spiritual Truth, the Holy Spirit is doing the same here through the Apostle Paul.
TAKE HOME:
- Recognizing the wiles, lies, of the devils is essential with all defensive armor in full battle mode, and offensive armor also in full battle mode all the time.
- The devils are constantly bringing their lies to you, things contrary to the Word of God, are you answering with your mouth with the Word of God? Do not compromise the Word of God at all, not even a little bit or what one (influenced by a demon) might say is reasonable.
- Always remember our real enemies are not other people but the demonic powers behind the people.
Lord willing, I will resume right here next week. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
