AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

WHEN HE COMES
Greetings dear and precious saints of the only Living God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and welcome back to our Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give us His Word to show us not only Himself but who we are in His family. Not everyone is in the family of God. There are two families in the earth, only two, those who declare and practice God as Lord and Savior and those who declare and practice the demonic as their lord and savior (provider, etc.). One may exclaim, “I don’t worship Satan!” Really? Examine where your time is spent, on what is your money spent, are you generous, and with whom do you hang out? Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible expanding our reach with the good news. The news does not get any better than the Word of God. The featured picture today is of a magnificent Church in Colorado reminding us to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Ephesians 6:18 (NJB)
18 In all your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired of staying awake to pray for all God’s holy people,
Now, let’s shift gears and turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 35:4-7 (TLB)
4 Encourage those who are afraid. Tell them, “Be strong, fear not, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.”
5 And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unstop the ears of the deaf.
6 The lame man will leap up like a deer, and those who could not speak will shout and sing! Springs will burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground will become a pool, with springs of water in the thirsty land. Where desert jackals lived, there will be reeds and rushes!
Last Thursday and yesterday I reviewed verse four of our text above, especially the part about the coming (now having come) Messiah destroying our enemies and the command to fear not. God is just and has not commanded that we do anything that is not possible for us to accomplish with faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit. God will help us but not until we are doing our part. Our part is to confess with our mouth and believe in our heart, same way we got saved in the first place. Notice the lushness and release from the curse when Messiah comes (came). The more our spiritual enemies control a person and/or area the more barren it will become, the more violent it will become. Life replaces death where God is honored, and vice versa when people and things other than God are first. Let’s not look at these verses in the natural but with spiritual eyes seeing the glory of God springing us everywhere He is honored. All of this is available to the Child of God who believes and hasn’t bought into the poverty, suffering mindset that much of the Church embraces. All of the patriarchs were over the top rich, successful, and they had a lesser Covenant. Why won’t we believe the Bible? Remember what Joshua (Hebrew name equivalent to Jesus) told the tribe of Manasseh when they didn’t possess all of their inheritance.
Joshua 18:2-3 (KJV)
2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.
3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you? (Bold added)
Most of our preachers are not as bold as Joshua and let those they are leading know they are lazy. We must recognize that when what we are doing, perhaps decades, is not producing Heaven on earth, a change is needed. Even the Old Testament saints were told they could have Heaven on earth if they would be wholly devoted to Jehovah.
Deuteronomy 11:18-22 (KJV)
18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
Let’s take a brief look at the name “Joshua”. If you will go into your Strong’s Concordance you will see the clear connection between the names Joshua and Jesus, they are equivalent. The name Joshua transliterated from Hebrew is yehôshuaʿ meaning Jehovah-saved according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. The thing I find intriguing about this is that the meaning of Joshua, Jehovah-saved is in the past tense making a prophetic name for the coming Messiah. Jehovah generally refers to the Father and He saved through the Son.
