PERSECUTION WILL COME WALKING IN HIS WILL

Greetings to all of the House of God and welcome back to these enlightening, instructive, and empowering teachings from the Book of 1st John. The Lord is so good to give us the Policy and Procedure Manual for the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God if you haven’t noticed is not loosey goosy but a Kingdom of laws. Obeyed these laws bring prosperity, health, safety, and eternal life. When these laws are not followed the curse enters with its attendant poverty, poor health, lack of safety, and eternal damnation. Just a note about poverty. I am not talking about life on the streets, under a bridge. When one does not have an inheritance for their children and grandchildren as well as a continual overflow in their own life to shine (Isaiah 60 & 61) and further the Kingdom of God, they are in poverty. Poverty is of the wicked one, overflowing abundance is of God. It is everywhere in Scripture. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
1 John 3:11-15 (KJV)
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
We left off last Friday talking about Cain and Able, their respective offerings, and the murder of Abel. They both had brought a first fruits offering to God. Able brought the first and the best to God and Cain did not. Just for a moment I wanted bring a little bit of a side point to light.
Genesis 4:7 (NIV)
7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”
This is after the fall, but even here Cain could exercise freewill and master the sin at the door which was the evil spirit of murder. Man has always had freewill and will have forever. The problem is that fallen man was so much easier to deceive and be kept in a lifestyle of evil. Fallen man then and now does not study the Bible neither can they understand it. They are not surrounded by fellow believers, do not hear regular Bible teaching, and they do not have the Holy Spirit.
Now, the Apostle of love goes on to say, don’t wonder about it when you discover that the world hates you. They will hate you just as Cain hated Abel. The Apostle John had heard Jesus teach this very thing.
John 15:18-20 (KJV)
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Be aware that persecution is not being stoned, crucified, beaten, or killed. It means that pressure will be put on you to surrender your beliefs, the Word in your life.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
