THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART TWENTY-EIGHT
WHAT DO YOU TREASURE? IT IS COMING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!

Greetings to all, faithful partners, faithful followers, and first-time visitors. Welcome back to this study of the Kingdom of God. The main thing that Jesus taught and demonstrated was the Kingdom of God. Since it was important to Him, we must make it important to us. Scripture like God is timeless so this was not just important then but is important now and will always be important. Without further ado let’s go to our anchor Scripture.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Once again, I will ask both of us, do we understand this command? Are we doing this? Are we willing to change to do this command? Is what we are thinking, saying, and doing and the impact on the Kingdom of God in the forefront of our thoughts? Do we evaluate our thoughts, words, and actions with regard to His righteousness? Now, let’s return to the disclosing of the mysteries (secrets) of the Kingdom of God spoken from the lips of the Master.
I suspect you have noticed that we have a significant part to pray in obtaining the promises of God and being fruitful. Everything is already ours, already available to us but we must adapt it into our lives. It is no different than salvation. It is available to everyone but not everyone is saved. Only those who value the Word, believe the Word, and speak it. It is in the heart first, then in the mouth, and then God does His part, and we are saved.
Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Let’s look at little further in Matthew chapter thirteen as to why some develop in the secrets of the Kingdom of God and others do not.
Matthew 13:10-13 (KJV)
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
It seems to me that in short what Jesus is saying is that to those who treasure, honor the Word, He will give them more but those that do not will have what little they have taken away. Taken away, not by the Lord, but by the various wiles of the devils. Remember the parable of the talents and pounds? The one that did nothing with his/her talent or pound had it taken from them and given to the most productive servant.
TAKE HOME:
- Let’s ask ourselves, are we treasuring the trash of the world or are we treasuring the Word of God? Just watch your speech and thoughts, especially under pressure, and see what comes out. Your treasure will come out be it good or bad.
- We must value, honor the Word of God on purpose, an act of our will, acting on the knowledge that there is nothing more precious.
- There is no such thing as I can’t understand the Scripture for the born-again believer who is pursuing the Kingdom of God and His righteousness with all their heart. Afterall the One who knows everything is within and is our Teacher.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow, Sunday. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
