LOVE UNFORTUNATELY HAS BECOME A CHURCH WORD

Welcome back to our study of Divine love (agapē/agapaō), the love that God is and expresses. We as His children made in His image and likeness likewise are love and express this same love. The main thing that drove me to write this book “Awake, Arise, and Triumph – Be Love” was the continual hearing of this love but not hearing a definition or what it looked like. This of course is also true of other “Church” words. Thus far I have discussed that love is Divine in origin and resident in us. This love is first and foremost obedience to Scripture. It is selfless in motivation. This love walks in Blood Covenant with God.
We are to be a living breathing expression of our Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus, with the Holy Spirit working in and through us.
1 John 4:16-19 (KJV)
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
When you take the definition I gave of love, the fact that love is obedience to the Word and is unchangeable due to Blood Covenant, selfless in motivation, this is an astounding passage. Now that I think of it, the whole Bible is astounding. Sometimes even the begets can be astonishing. We are children of God. If God is love, then you and I are love. That is how we are designed. Notice verse seventeen tells us that as He is, so are we in this world. Do I believe that? Am I acting like I am as Jesus is right now at the Right Hand of our Heavenly Father? We then come to verse eighteen, where we learn that as we mature in love the less fear we will have and finally, we will have none.
Fear keeps us out of the will of God, paralyses us, fear is sin, and fear torments us. God helps us as we exercise our will to become mature in our love which then completely casts out fear. This is our response; Lord, help me to mature in love casting out all fear, in Jesus’ name. Let us review a little Biblical Numerology concerning the preceding passage from 1st John. 1st John is the 23rd book of the New Testament and 23 is the number of death. The chapter is the fourth and four is the number of authority and power. Sixteen is the number of love. Seventeen is the Bible number for victory. Eighteen is the number of bondage and nineteen is the number of faith. So taken together, without love we have spiritual death but with love we have life, authority and power, giving victory, making us free of the bondage of fear. Isn’t the Bible just wonderful!
Just think of what happened to the children of Israel when it was time for them to go into the Promised Land. They feared the people which led them into unbelief, and they disobeyed the Word of God and wandered in the wilderness and died there.
Numbers 13:32 (KJV)
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
TAKE HOME:

Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
