GIFTS – PART ONE
THE PRECIOUS TRAIL OF BLOOD – PART ONE
Sunday – October 20, 2019, Tishrei 21, 5780

Greeting my precious brothers and sisters in the Lord and welcome to this new Sunday series titled “Gifts”. It is my hope and prayer that this is not only a fascinating study but one that makes us more aware of the love of God, the mercy of God, and the provision of God. All of these gifts that we will be talking about in the coming weeks do not come automatically and they do not manifest or bear fruit in our lives except as we choose. However, every gift is freely available to all. Gifts by nature are free. What we do with the gift whether it be a Christmas present or a gift from God is entirely up to us. Will we receive the gifts of God, will we unwrap them and set them on the shelf or will we put them to work bearing fruit for the Kingdom of God? The gift that opens the door to all of the others for the Christian is salvation. However, I would point out that even though those in the world are unaware of Gods’ many gifts (undeserved [them and us]) actively at work in their lives. Among these are His love extended, His mercy, and His patience. The devil would like to kill us all before or at birth but the Hand of God prevents this for the most part independent of our acknowledgement of Him. Now, let’s turn our attention to the gift of salvation.
As we look at this most fundamental of gifts, salvation, we will look at it from before the foundation of the world until it was finished.
Revelation 13:8 (KJV)
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
The word “foundation” in the preceding Scripture means deposition, founding; figurative conception, to conceive, or foundation according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. The Greek root word means to throw down, cast down, or lay according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. However, we might choose to interpret this it is clear that before the creation of Adam a way of salvation was in place. That is not to say that God ordained that Adam would fail. God is not willing that any should perish (1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9). In the event Adam sinned a Savior would be needed and the provision was in place. Adam and all who followed him and Eve including you and me are freewill creatures. There can be no real love or faith without freewill. God could have just as easily created beings with no choice, no freewill who would mindlessly go through the motions of love but that is not love. Love chooses, faith chooses. God’s hand is extended to all, what did you do with that Hand, what have I done? God wanted a family so man was created in His image and likeness with His spirit and soul breathed into an immortal body made of the earth. This gave Adam and those to follow citizenship in Heaven and in earth and thus authority in both. All spiritual, supernatural authority was lost in the fall BUT Jesus got it ALL back!
Now, I would like to take a little time and discuss various definitions of the word salvation, the concept of salvation. First let’s take a look at secular dictionary sources. The dictionary definition of salvation includes; preservation, or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss. The Thesaurus gives the following as synonyms of the word salvation; redemption, deliverance, rescue, recovery, and escape. As we look at these definitions and synonyms, we can readily see the Bible Truths of salvation on display. Now let’s turn our attention to the definition of this word salvation in Scripture. First in the Hebrew.
Isaiah 61:10 (KJV)
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
You and I dear saints are clothed with the garments of salvation. The very phrasing “he hath clothed me” tells us it is something we could not do ourselves and was done for us by our Lord. The Hebrew word used here and translated as “salvation” means liberty, deliverance, prosperity, and safety. The root word in Hebrew (its origin) means to be open, wide or free, (by implication) to be safe, causative to free or succor, avenging, defend, deliver, help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save (-iour), and get victory according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. For the lost and perishing without hope this is over the top good news. I think we all can see that this is all going to be very much the same in the Greek so let’s go there as we finish for today and we will pick up right here next Sunday.
Luke 3:6 (KJV)
6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
The Greek word translated here as “salvation” means a defender or (by implication) defence (alternate spelling of defense) and the root word means to rescue or safety (physical or morally), deliver, health, salvation, save, and saving according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Isn’t this wonderful, don’t just look at these words as just words of a dry definition, look at them as at least in part what Jesus came and accomplished. He wants us in absolute safety (spiritual and physical), He wants us delivered from everything of the curse, He wants us healed if we are sick but His best is divine health, and so on. Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
