PARABLES UNLOCK THE MYSTERIES OF THE KINGDOM

Greetings to all in the Kingdom of God and those who are entering. The Lord is so good. We are picking up once again today with our study of the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This was a major theme of Jesus’ earthly Ministry and thus we must follow suite. We are commanded to do as Jesus did and even greater things for, He is gone on to Heaven (John 14:12). Jesus taught and demonstrated the laws of the Kingdom of God and the Fathers’ ways, and we are to do likewise. Now, let’s go to our text Scripture and dive into today’s teaching.
Matthew 6:32-33 (AMP)
32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
I have asked over and over, do we see this as a command that we are pursuing with all of our being? It seems that all too many times we look at a Scripture and perhaps say something like oh that is so good but then we walk away soon forgetting what we just saw. Then perhaps we wonder why we are in the same place spiritually and materially year after year. Let’s move to our next teaching from the mouth of the Master, our Master.
Mark 4:10-13 (KJV)
10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
We have now come to the parable (story, allegory, moral tale) of the sower. The twelve and the others following Him are asking why He is teaching in parables (a story to illustrate a point). It is given for those in the Kingdom of God to understand these parables for we have the Teacher within. On the other hand, for those outside the Kingdom it seems to be foolishness. The Apostle Paul talks about this at some length in the first chapter of 1st Corinthians.
1 Corinthians 1:21 (KJV)
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
As we are convicted by the Holy Spirit of the Truth of the gospel we believe when we don’t yet understand, that is faith dear ones. It is faith that pleases God. In fact, it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). Back to our Mark 4 we see Jesus telling them and us that this parable is a key parable. If we don’t understand this one, we won’t understand any of them. Next time I will take some time to deal with this parable.
TAKE HOME:
- Parables unlock the mysteries, Truths, Laws, of the Kingdom of God.
- Understanding the parable of the sower is key to understanding how the Kingdom of God functions.
- It takes faith to enter the Kingdom of God, we must believe and act upon information we don’t yet understand. Once in the Kingdom the Master Teacher is within and we can if we choose, understand all things.
