DIVISION IS NOT OF GOD DON’T BE AN AGENT OF DIVISION

Greetings to all in the Kingdom of God and those who are entering. The Lord is so good. We are picking up once again today with our study of the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This was a major theme of Jesus’ earthly Ministry and thus we must follow suite. We are commanded to do as Jesus did and even greater things for, He is gone on to Heaven (John 14:12). Jesus taught and demonstrated the laws of the Kingdom of God and the Fathers’ ways, and we are to do likewise. Now, let’s go to our text Scripture and dive into today’s teaching.
Matthew 6:32-33 (AMP)
32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
I have asked over and over, do we see this as a command that we are pursuing with all of our being? It seems that all too many times we look at a Scripture and perhaps say something like oh that is so good but then we walk away soon forgetting what we just saw. Then perhaps we wonder why we are in the same place spiritually and materially year after year. Let’s move to our next teaching from the mouth of the Master, our Master.
Mark 3:22-26 (KJV)
22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Here we find the scribes saying that Jesus is of the devil. Not much has changed, goes on today. Some for example say that speaking in tongues is of the devil when Scripture is clear that it is a gift of God. Jesus told them that if devils are casting out devils soon there will be no devils to cast out, the kingdom will cease to exist. Division is the prime tactic of the demons; unity is a way of Heaven. Look at the success of the demons when considering the thousands of divisions in the “Christian Faith”. Denominations are not of God, period! We are all called to be sons of the Kingdom of God, those that follow after The Son, Jesus the Christ, and be called Christians.
Let’s take a look again at this verse.
Mark 3:22 (KJV)
22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
I will for a moment focus on “Beelzebub” which means lord of the flied and dung god. In the Bible Books before Matthew he is referred to as Baalzebub.
2 Kings 1:2 (KJV)
2 And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.
You can quickly see we are talking about idol worship which in reality is devil worship.
TAKE HOME:
- Division is not of God, never of God. That is there are to be no divisions among God’s children. Divisions weaken, the more divisions the merrier in the thinking of Satan.
- Divisions within a single assembly of believers will never have a good outcome and will eventually lead to the death of that local body or bring it to little more than a social club.
- Another name for Satan or the Devil is Beelzebub which means lord of the flies or dung god. Seems like an apt name.
