KINGDOM OF GOD – PART NINE

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this vital Bible Study of the Kingdom of God. We are discovering that Jesus preached predominately the Kingdom of God/Heaven and repentance. If one needs the Kingdom of God, they must repent or turn from the kingdom of darkness completely. If they are born again and, in the Kingdom, but not walking in the fulness of the Kingdom, a change, repentance, is needed as well to walk in Kingdom of God ways. We are not waiting on God; God is waiting on us. Now, let’s review our anchor Scripture, a command from our King and Lord Himself.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Jesus told us the Kingdom of God was within us (Luke 17:21) and the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul told us the Kingdom of God was righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). All things manifested in the physical realm started in the spiritual realm. An idea, an imagination, became words, and actions, and the creation or manifestation of the idea, the thing imagined. This is how everything in our lives came about including our very existence. Let’s again ask ourselves if we are truly willingly and obediently doing the Lords command to seek first the Kingdom of God and the doing of things His way. Let’s move forward.
Matthew 4:23-24 (KJV)
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
So, what did Jesus teach and preach? He taught and preached the gospel or good news of the Kingdom. What was the result? All manner of sickness, disease, those tormented, those possessed by devils, those who were “lunatick”, and had palsy were healed. Wow! Do you suppose we need to hear more of this in our Churches and homes? Doesn’t the preceding passage sound like what Jesus read in the synagogue right at the beginning of His Ministry.
Luke 4:18-21 (KJV)
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Jesus said we were to do all of this and more, yes more.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Let’s ponder this.
TAKE HOME:
- We are to be doing what Jesus did and greater things.
- We are to pursue the Kingdom of God and Kingdom ways as our primary aim. Have you asked Him today what the Kingdom priority is today for you?
- What areas in your life (thoughts, words, ways) need to change to bring the needed changes for walking fully in the Kingdom of God and His righteousness?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here with our study of the Kingdom of God tomorrow. The Lord is good, He is not the source of our problems, and He cannot lie! God loves you; we love you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
