THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART TWENTY-TWO
HEAL THE SICK, CAST OUT DEVILS, FREELY YE HAVE RECEIVED, FREELY GIVE
Video link: https://youtu.be/kTRTWZ-qk54
Greetings dear saints of the Kingdom of God walking in righteousness and doing righteousness. As we are perhaps all too well aware, we are about to move forward into the year 2025 on the Gregorian Calendar. Have we redeemed the time, spent the time, given us well in 2024? Let us determine that we will not go into 2025 with any “should have, could have, wish I would have”. Let us be honest, repent where repentance is called for and move into the new year with a new commitment to our Heavenly Father, our King, and our Lord. Let us resolve to do our anchor Scripture with renewed vigor.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Today I am picking up where I left off yesterday with the lengthy Matthew chapter ten passage. You may recall that Jesus is sending out the twelve, who later became Apostles with the exception of Judas, to cleanse those who believed of the curse. Today, I will insert comments between the verses, but first I believe we should read the whole passage. Having done that return to the top of the passage again reading the Scripture with my comments added.
Matthew 10:5-15 (KJV)
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Comment: Notice that Jesus is not only telling them where to go but where not to go. He has not changed. Are we listening to His instructions and doing them?
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Comment: He told them what to preach. Where do your sermons come from? I and He is not just talking to Five-Fold Ministers but to each one of us. We are all to do the Ministry of the Kingdom of God in His righteousness.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Comment: He tells them what to do as they go. He has not changed.
9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
Comment: He tell them what they are personally responsible for on assignment. I recently heard a man under the unction of the Holy Spirit say, “God’s will, God’s bill”.
11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Comment: What makes a house, really the occupants, worthy? It is one that by reputation has the reputation of putting the Kingdom of God and His way of doing first.
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Comment: There are goats and wolves among the sheep, tares among harvest and when that is found depart that house. If the city will not receive you depart it as well. Not receiving the one that the Lord sends is a very dangerous thing.
TAKE HOME:
- Beware of hypocrites (actors) and wolves among the sheep and depart from them.
- Walking in the will of God, His assignment, His way of doing the assignment will bring provision, a walking in the rest of God. That does not mean you do not have abundant resources at your disposal, it means in the assignment you rely upon His provision.
- Are we speaking and demonstrating the Kingdom of Heaven or what we want to preach (speak of) or perhaps what we think the people need.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here with our study of the Kingdom of God next Saturday. The Lord is good, He is not the source of our problems, neither is the devil, and He cannot lie! God loves you; we love you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
