THE KINGDOM OF GOD – PART TWENTY-ONE
WE HAVE POWER OVER UNCLEAN SPIRITS, AND TO HEAL ALL MANNER OF SICKNESS AND DISEASE
Video link: https://youtu.be/W0P4GE7kA2o
Greetings dear saints of the Kingdom of God walking in righteousness and doing righteousness. As we are perhaps all too well aware, we are about to move forward into a brand new year. Have we redeemed the time, spent the time, given us well in 2024? Let us determine that we will not go into 2025 with any “should have, could have, wish I would have”. Let us be honest, repent where repentance is called for and move into the new year with a new commitment to our Heavenly Father, our King, and our Lord. Let us resolve to do our anchor Scripture with renewed vigor.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Let’ ask ourselves. Am I putting the Kingdom of God and His way of doing with His attitudes and motivations first or am I pretty much going day to day in cruise control? Do we still have our days and our life upside down with regard to our anchor Scripture? Are we seeking first after the things of this life and then adding on our “spiritual routine”? This brings us to today’s and tomorrow’s Scripture with Jesus sending out the twelve on assignment.
Matthew 10:1 (KJV)
1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
The word translated from Greek to English as “power” means to have authority over. We can see here that fallen man then or now did not have authority over demons. However, the demons did not have authority over or the ability to control people except by deception. We must give them authority like Adam and Eve, like you and I, before salvation and having light. The Scripture then lists the twelve original disciples with whom we are familiar. Next, starting in verse five we will review a lengthy passage, which I want us to have in full context. We will examine their assignment then and ours today. What did their Ministry look like and is ours today to look any different? In tomorrow’s teaching, I will insert comments between the verses, but first I believe we should read the whole passage and then return to the top of the passage again reading the Scripture with my comments added.
Matthew 10:5-15 (KJV)
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
TAKE HOME:
- We must be mindful to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and trust the Kingdom and our function in the Kingdom to bring superabundance into our natural life.
- A major benefit of the Kingdom of God is the removal of the curse from our own lives and that of those around us.
- We are to preach (all of us are to speak about) the Kingdom of Heaven and demonstrate the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kings way of doing things as the aim of our lives.
As the Lord wills I will resume our study of the Kingdom of God tomorrow. The Lord is good, He is not the source of our problems, neither is the devil, or other people, and He cannot lie! God loves you; we love you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
