JUDE – PART TWENTY-NINE
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and partners with this Ministry to bring the Truth to those with ears to hear in our generation. My Ministry is primarily to the Church, pulpit and pew alike; however, I focus on leadership since that is a part of my calling, to come along side leaders. Some leaders will listen and allow me (God through me) to speak into their lives and others will not. It is not that I know so much, for I do not, but that is how God flows in and through me. Pre-believers reading this teaching are welcome and I invite you to change from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of the Son of God. To all I say welcome back to our study of this wonderful Bible Book of Jude.
Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. We see your sharing as valuing the teaching. God is so good.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in this wonderful Book of Jude.
Jude 1:10-13 (KJV)
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
As you will recall this Book is about what Jude calls “the common salvation”, faith, and the infiltration of evil into the Church. It has occurred to me that this Book is a lot like what I do in this blog (The Three Minute Word) and the books I write. Jude a servant of Jesus Christ then goes on to show the danger of this evil infiltrating the Church, body of Christ. It can lead over time to a turning away from or not even starting with the true gospel (Word of God) and thus not obtain the true salvation. The faith is the body of Truth imparted through Scripture start to finish that he earnestly implores them and us to contend for.
Anything that is not the Truth is evil, no matter how sincere the teacher, it doesn’t matter who taught it, or how long it has been taught. All of us must contend daily for the Truth. The Truth and obedience to the Truth brings nothing but blessing and an abundant life, believing evil corrupts or contaminates the Truth we do have and opens our lives up to the curse. I frequently recommend that people read Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight, read slowly and thoughtfully. The mixing of Truth and evil never produces a blessing, always the curse. It is the original sin in the Garden of Eden of partaking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Before finishing for today I want to deal with a term that is common to the Church, and that is the process of backsliding. Sometimes a person speaking about this topic is describing a person that is not walking as they once walked with the Lord. How long can a person not make forward progress in the Kingdom of God and in fact regress before they are no longer a part of the Kingdom of God? Sometimes they are describing someone who has turned away from Christ Jesus and has returned completely to the ways of the world. The implication is that this second person is now no longer saved, in the Kingdom of God, but has returned to the kingdom of darkness. Many do not believe one can be truly born again and ultimately be lost. This Book of Jude would seem to refute that line of thought, doctrine, belief. This I know for God spoke it to me, “it is hard to get the Blood off”. Since none of us, God alone, knows the heart of a person, it is not our place to judge where the line is that one crosses from light into darkness.
Much food for thought today.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. The Lord is good and He cannot lie!
