JESUS THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD

Greetings dear saints of God and others and welcome back to this exciting and revelatory study of The Trail of Blood from before the foundation of the world to the Mercy Seat of Heaven. Now, let’s get back on the trail. Today we will start discussing Jesus more directly.

The blood of Jesus changed and changes everything, praise His name! The outcome of the sacrifice of Jesus will be discussed in more detail in Book Three – From Redemption to Eternity (yet to be completely written and published). For now, let us look at one area that you hear commonly. You have heard that the battle is not ours, but the Lords. Jesus was the only One that could pay the penalty for sin and completely strip the devil. Let’s consider these Scriptures, all of which are in the Old Testament.

1 Samuel 17:47 (AMP)
⁴⁷And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.

1 Chronicles 5:22 (AMP)
²²For a great number fell mortally wounded, because the battle was God’s. And [these Israelites] dwelt in their territory until the captivity [by Assyria more than five centuries later].

2 Chronicles 20:15 (AMP)
¹⁵He said, Hearken, all Judah, you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Remember that God, Elohim, has always retained ownership of the earth; but He had given mankind dominion over all the earth. Man sinned and that dominion was passed to Satan. During the time of what we call the Old Testament, Satan had dominion in the earth with no competition, at least from mankind. God had a plan to restore dominion to mankind; and down through the next four thousand years, that plan unfolded, culminating in the Cross. God established spiritual laws from the beginning that allowed ongoing, albeit limited communion, between Him and man. As long as man would walk in those laws in accordance with God’s ways, then God could legally move on their behalf. That’s how it worked then and now. In the three examples above, we see this very thing happening. You remember what God said to Noah when they came off the Ark.

Genesis 9:1 (KJV)
¹And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

In the beginning, Elohim had given man dominion and told him to subdue the earth. Both the giving of dominion and the command to subdue the earth are missing here in Genesis 9:1. God also had instructed them to dress and keep the garden. And finally, He told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Now, He does tell Noah and all that follow until Jesus, that they are empowered (blessed) and they can be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth. The blessing, just as pronounced on Abram, is the empowerment that brought victory in the physical realm. Examples of supernatural empowerment are when David killed Goliath, and when one of the mighty men killed three-hundred Philistines at one time (1 Chronicles 11:11); which is not possible in the natural and required supernatural empowerment.

This Anointing, empowerment, was not available to all in the 4000 years before Christ however God looked after all the peoples that worshipped Him. Today those born again and filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues have this supernatural empowerment when we need it. We have to be aware of Him and act in faith. In the fall, we lost dominion and the ability to subdue; but that was restored by the work of Jesus at Calvary. In spite of that capacity being lost to the individual God who never changes looked after the people as individuals and as a nation. You remember that He told His disciples before His ascension that all power had been given to Him in Heaven and in earth, and then He instructed them to go in His name into all the earth.

Matthew 28:18-19 (KJV)
¹⁸And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
¹⁹Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

The word “power” here is the Greek wordexousia – meaning privilege, capacity, competency, freedom, delegated influence, authority, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength. This word has to do with dominion. The dominion God gave to mankind in the beginning (Genesis 1:26). The subduing came when they waited for and received the promise of the Father.

TAKE HOME:

Jesus was the only One who could engage in battle with Satan, pay the price of sin, and cleanse us of sin reclaiming what Adam forfeited. The battle was truly the Lord’s.
In Christ Jesus the Eden Mandates have been restored to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue the earth, care for the earth, guard the earth, and not mix/practice the knowledge of good and evil.
All authority has been given to Jesus as a result of the Cross, His payment in Hell, and the Resurrection and He has given for us to walk in the very same authority.
