1 JOHN CHAPTER TWO & VERSE TWENTY

Greetings precious children of the Father, joint heirs of all creation, natural and spiritual, and my brothers and sisters in Christ. Welcome back to the Book of love written by the one I have been calling the Apostle of love. I will be picking up with the twentieth verse of the second chapter and see how far the Lord takes us. Be sure you are reading out loud.
1 John 2:20-23 (NKJV)
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
It seems to me that this 20th verse has been abused and one can see why by the surface reading. I suspect that everyone reading this knows that they do not know all things. The question is this. In Christ Jesus are we in a position to know all things? Certainly, we are! The Holy Spirit is within us. Is there anything that the Holy Spirit does not know? No, He knows all!
James 4:2-3 (KJV)
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Apostle James says by the unction of the Holy Spirit that we have not because we ask not. Let me remind us all of another verse that may give us further insight.
1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
The word “mind” here is not referring to the soul of the Lord, of Christ, but His intellect, His understanding. Dear ones we have access to this! Are we accessing it or just sucking up the usual Sunday morning pablum served in many Churches? The mind of Christ must be pursued with all diligence.
At the start of this Book, the Apostle John (not John the Baptist) tells us that this is a Book of life (here and later) and light (revealed Word). All too many people relegate everything in the New Testament as only spiritual and for later in Heaven and miss out on the fulness of the Kingdom of God for their lives here and now. As we transition into verse twenty-one, we understand he is writing to people that he believes know the Truth. He is then reminding them that a lie is not the Truth. A lie is anything that contradicts the Truth. Get my book, Sacred Cows Among the Ekklesia. Unfortunately, we see this from the pulpit and the pew way to often and it keeps individuals and congregations out of the fullness of Gods’ promises.
