1 JOHN – CHAPTER TWO

Greetings dear friends and saints of God and welcome back to this study of 1st John written by the love Apostle himself. Please pause for a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. If it is of value to you, it will be of value to others. Thank you for sharing. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today continuing to read out loud.
1 John 2:15-17 (KJV)
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Today I am picking up with verse seventeen. Here we are reminded of a very critical Truth. Many times, we are going day to day as if this will be our life forever but it will not. We are shocked when someone dies like we never heard of such a thing. Dear ones if the Lord tarries we are all going by way of the grave. This is not to feared. If we have finished our course, it is a day of great joy and triumph. When I say “finished our course” I mean that we have done all the Lord has required of us in health and wealth of every sort. This does not mean we got sick and died leaving before our assignments were done. Now, back to our primary text. Everything of the world, the sin cursed system, and its attendant sins, Satan and the demons will all be history forever one day. Let the following familiar verse marinate in your soul nourishing the spirit.
2 Corinthians 4:18 (KJV)
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Notice we are looking at things which are seen and we are looking at things which are not seen. The Lord through the Apostle Paul is referring to the things of this 3-D (three dimensional) world appreciated by our natural 3-D bodies in the first part. The second part is referring to the things we see in the fourth dimension (4-D) by our spirit/soul. This physical realm is 3-D and tangible to natural measurement and will all pass away. On the other hand, all that is in 4-D (spirit), the things we don’t see with natural eyes but with spiritual eyes are eternal, they will never pass away.
Did you notice the terminal segment of verse seventeen? We are told that when we do the will of God we will live forever. That existence is in the fourth dimension, the spirit realm. Remember doing the will of God is how we love (Bible love) God. Disobedience is death. Death does not mean we cease to exist or cease to be conscious. It means we are not connected to God and are in Hell. It is important to know that every manifestation in this temporal realm (3-D) had its origin in the eternal realm (4-D). Our mind is in the spirit realm and brings about manifestation in the natural realm. This natural realm (3-D) is contained in and controlled by the spirit realm (4-D).
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday. Remember, the Lord is good, He never tempts us with evil, He never puts evil upon us, and He cannot lie.
